You’re Getting Older – Stop Acting Like It

What happened to the wreck-less abandon that dominated the landscape of our lives as kids?   We lived free and full of joy.  We thought we could do anything and we knew that God could!  We lived with undeniable faith and never questioned God’s authority or His faithfulness.  What happened to that?

Why is it that as we grow older, we get stupid?   We begin to question God and doubt His Word.  Our prayers are filled with back-up plans and we lack faith.  As a result, we are weak, unstable, and joy is a foreign concept.  As kids we were taught that we could be anything and we could do anything.  However, by the time we reach our mid 20’s to early 30’s we are warned not to get our hopes up!

Life is more than a lottery ticket.  We can do something about our destiny.  God gave me the will to choose and today I choose life!  I choose to stop being a “whiner baby!”  I choose to be a person of action.  I choose to stop making excuses.  I choose to stop trying to fix everyone and start letting God fix me.  I choose to put my faith in Christ the way that I did as a kid.   I choose to have a “child-like” faith and dependence upon God.  His Word says He is faithful, He has proven His faithfulness, and I will live like I believe it!

Hey, we are all getting older, it’s time we stop acting like it!
